212

So what is so special about 212?
I just read a VERY QUICK read: a book titled 212 degrees.
You see, at 211 degrees, water is extemely hot. BUT at 212 degrees, it boils. When water boils, it makes steam. With steam, you can power a locomotive! It just takes that one tiny degree to make a difference.
I challenge you to make that 1 degree difference in some facet of your life today!

About Me

I got to thinking that our team is growing so quickly and in so many directions, that many of you don't know me and I don't know you. I would love to get to know as many of you on my team as possible! Here is a thought...I am going to post 10 things about me. Some are obvious if you know me for a bit and some are a bit more random. After you read mine, I challenge you to comment back with 10 facts about you.
1. I started Scentsy for shoes! I started selling Scentsy because my friends and I were buying it anyway...why not make some money too. Paul was always getting onto me for buying too many shoes. I thought, if I buy my shoes with my Scentsy money-Bonus! Obviously, my business has grown beyond shoes!
2. I have had MANY jobs. My first job was cutting fabric at Hancock fabrics. I then did a short stint at Old Navy. After that, I was off to be a receptionist at Top Cuts. Next was a life changing step-Java Dave's CoffeeShop (more on that later). Then I work for a while at Salon Portico doing hair. After that, ProCuts. When we moved to Wagoner, I worked many different jobs at Walmart: cashier, Accounting, photo clerk, and Customer Service Manager. Throw Avon somewhere in there. A short stint at Albertsons grocery. Next, I think, was Petra Fashions (another direct sales). Whew....then began my teaching career. I have taught Kdg, 1st, 3rd, and Special Education. Let me just say, I LOVE my job now!!!!!
3. Paul and I were married very young. I was 18 when we got married. No-we were not high school sweethearts. We actually only knew each other about 9 months when we got married. I could not have ever made a better decision! We just celebrated 12 years of marriage. We have two beautiful children-Mackenzie is 9 and Antonio is 7.
4. I am a lifetime Weight Watcher member. When Kenzie was 4, I decided I couldn't blame my extra weight on the pregnancy anymore. I started WW. I lost a total of 37 pounds and 6 sizes. I do still go to meetings to be sure I maintain my weight loss.
5. I LUV couponing. Seriously! I am one of those crazies with the 3-ring binder full of an insane amount of coupons. I am that person that you hate to get behind in line. Yep, I am that person! I get a "high" off of good deals and bargains. If you want to get into couponing, I recommend http://www.moneysavingqueen.com/ for starters.
6. I want to be a doctor. No, not like a "Are you feeling well?" doctor. I want to get my doctorate degree. I really don't know what I would like to study. It changes often. I am definately a lifelong learner and love to learn new things. I enjoy school. I would love to go back to school once my kids are grown and gone.
7. So back to the Java Daves....I am a caffeine addict. I blame it all on my job as a barista in high school. I am really not picky as to how I get my caffeine...coffee, tea, soda, chocolate, red bull. However, if I had my choice, it would be a TRIPLE GRANDE SKINNY VANILLA LATTE from Starbucks.
8. I am reverse-challenged! Yep that is right-I can drive beautifully in forward motion, but put me in reverse, and it all goes bad!
9. "Hi, I'm Jami, a freshman at Northeastern State University!" I am a pageant brat. I wasn't one of those little kids that wears too much makeup and acts 20 when she is 6. I started doing pageants in high school. I never really wanted to win-just place. This was my plan to pay for school and it worked well-until I got married!
10. I am organized in my head eventhough it doesn't always come out into my surroundings. I really struggle with this. I love those minimalist houses where all the picture frames match and nothing is out of place. I want that! I just can't seem to pull it off. I want my desk to have a place for everything and everything in its place. I just can't seem to pull it off. I want my closet to stay organized and orderly. I just can't seem to pull it off.---This being said, if you talk to me and I say I would love to do something for you-I really would love to help. BUT, you better email it to me if you really want me to follow-through!

Well, I hope you have enjoyed getting to know me a bit better. Please share some about yourself so I can get to know you!

Scentsy Buddy

Did you know that we have a Scentsy Buddy website?????
Go to www.scentsybuddy.com and check it out. You can register your own Scentsy buddy and play some online games. I also found some printable color pages. I am definately going to print these out and keep them on hand for the little urchins that show up at Scentsy parties!

Conference Call

The conference call is now available for playback.
Dial 760-569-0119
Access Code 438463#
It will ask for a reference code. You don't need one because I only save one call at a time. I think you just push the # again, and the call will start.
I encourage you to listen if you were not on the call last night!

Poll:

If you attended Mini Convention, or watched it online, what was one thing you learned? Did you have an "ah ha" moment?

Spreading the Love

If you have known me for any amount of time, you will discover that I am very goal oriented. I set tons of goals for myself and my team. When I was teaching, I discovered that the students would only perform to the level that you expected of them. I feel the same happens to myself. If I expect more, I do more!

This is one goal/challenge that I have for our team: I want at least one team member in every state of the USA. Scent Therapy is currently in 11 states. We are in these states:

  • Arkansas

  • Colorado

  • Connecticut

  • Georgia

  • Kansas

  • Missouri

  • Nebraska

  • New Mexico

  • Oklahoma

  • Tennessee

  • Texas

If you are the first to have a recruit in an "unclaimed state", you will receive a prize in the mail from me. Be the consultant to enroll the recruit in our 50th state and you will receive $50 CASH!

So, start thinking about those cousins, aunts, long lost high school friends, facebook friends, etc. in other states and share the Scentsy opportunity with them all.

The power of change

Scentsy is POWERFUL! I knew this because of what it has allowed in my family. Not only am I less stressed, but I get to help people everyday. I know that most people would not think that selling candles could help people, but it does. Scentsy is empowering women (and men too) to live the type of life they have always desired. It is helping moms spend more time with their kids, helping families pay off debt, funding family vacations, and so much more!
While speaking with a customer at an event, we were both literally brought to tears. She simply began to imagine how her life could be different if she began to focus on a Scentsy business. Yes, my business will grow by getting a recruit, but more rewarding than that-I will be able to help this woman change her outlook on life!
Think about the lives that you can change.

I know that I was having trouble downloading this pic from the workstation. I found this on the myfamily website and thought I would share it with all of you. I absolutely love this warmer. I have so many personal warmers, but I think I might be getting another one here!!! I know I will be stock ordering them for craft shows for sure!

Blessed

Okay guys, I am overwhelmed at the growth and sales for our team this month. Literally in awe of what the Lord has done. I know that I could not have done all of this without each and every one of you on our team! Many of you know my Scentsy story and know that I was not looking for anything else to add into my life when Scentsy dropped in my lap. I signed up by chance hoping to make enough money to splurge on a pair of shoes each month. WOW! Look what the Lord has done to my "shoe" money.

As I have been reflecting on the blessing bestowed to my business, my finances, and my family, I have been turning to the Word. I have found two verses that speak volumes to my Scentsy business and I would like to share them with you:

"Dishonest money dwindles away, but he who gathers money little by little makes it grow." -Proverbs 13:11
I know that my business has grown in baby steps. I am thankful for that. I know that it is not "here today and gone tomorrow" because of how it has grown.
I think this verse is powerful especially when you have a hostess that is wanting to sign up. I know that it is tough to give up an entire party to a new recruit. You are losing money up front and simply HOPING that it will come back to you. The Word says it will! He will make your business grow if you are working in truthful and ethical ways!

Proverbs also says "Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and your plans will succeed." (16:3)

I know I am getting "preachy" this morning but this is my outward and vocal presentation of giving thanks to the Lord for all he has done for me.

I pray that you will have a blessed and prosperous September!
